We have recently launched a new African-American themed magazine for readers interested in the issues of life, religion, health, education, business, music, fashion, food, etc. The magazine is called CENTRIC MAGAZINE. We have a rather unique opportunity in that we have an already existing audience of 6 – 8 MILLION people PLUS. Well-known figures from the African-American community are featured on the cover of each issue – photographs are taken by some of the regions best photographic artists.
The magazine will be published quarterly in Hard Copy Print, Electronic PDF, a Digital page turning versions for iPads, iPhones, Androids, and other smart phones, and also a Facebook compatible version. Distribution will extend to various local churches, music stores, and events throughout the United States as well as certain local magazine retail outlets.
We are looking for QUALIFIED individuals for the following positions:
- CREATIVE DIRECTOR,
- FEATURE WRITERS,
- SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES, and
- ADVERTISING DIRECTOR
For the Senior Account Executive position, you will need to have had previous experience managing advertising for a magazine which fits the same description. Primarily, the Creative Director and the Feature Writers will be responsible for the compilation of all written and visual material which will be sent through to the designers for assembly in the layout.
Teams will be assigned to create article assets for features which must be reviewed and allocated to feature writers (some feature writers who may have more experience are encouraged to create their own assets). Regular section writers are also in charge of determining their own content. Each issue will feature an interview with a different well-known figure from the African-American community and must be arranged well in advance to commit to the interview and the cover photo shoot. Bear in mind this will be a very independently coordinated team of contributors in locations which span the globe so everything will be coordinated using email, Skype if available and telephone when practical.
The demands of the position as Advertising Director will be significant as the magazine will be 100 + pages per issue and the AD will be responsible for receipt in excess of US 1 million in advertising revenue quarterly. If necessary we can also appoint an assistant to this position in due course.
There will be a heavy demand for productivity in all facets of this publication as a new issue of the magazine will be produced every three months year round; however the ultimately chosen applicants will be paid handsomely for their time.
