Wits Journalism is hosting Finwrite, a two-day workshop for working and prospective financial journalists. The workshop aims to improve the knowledge base and skills of working journalists and to have a conversation about the practice in South Africa.
Speakers will be drawn from government, state enterprises and business as well as leading journalists. Specialist areas to be covered will include regulation, financial fraud, green finance, economic development, resource management, governance, mining, banking, energy and the environment. Journalism topics to be covered will include writing technique.
The Reserve Bank, national treasury and departments of mineral resources and economic development have to date agreed to participate as have leading experts in their fields.
