Highbury Safika Media (Pty) Ltd is seeking to appoint a Junior Copy Editor on its growing lifestyle magazines, who will report directly to the Chief Copy Editor.
Key Performance Areas are as follows:
• Contributing feature ideas for a stable of monthly lifestyle customer magazines
• Assisting with first edits across the titles
• Writing feature articles across the titles
• Assisting the Deputy Editor and Managing Editor with the production cycles
• Assisting with any additional supplements and new projects
• Subedit advertorial copy where necessary
• Continuously update HSM style guide

Requirements
• The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
• Be proficient in InCopy/InDesign and be able to use the internet as a research tool in a critical and informed manner
Personal Skills/Attributes
• Be a strong lifestyle writer with some experience of copy editing
• Be both creative and attentive to detail
• Have some experience of the managing editing processes of a magazine
• Be proactive, self-disciplined and a good team worker
• Be able to work accurately and professionally under deadline pressure
