Call for Contributions to Book "Native Peoples of the World" (M.E. Sharpe Publishing)

We are writing to announce and solicit your expertise in the final stages of a new encyclopedia, to be published by the eminent reference publisher, M.E. Sharpe, entitled "Native Peoples of the World". The book is under the general editorship of Steven L. Danver of Walden University
and Mesa Verde Publishing, who is working with a team of associate editors who have expertise in particular regions: Marc Becker (Central and South America), Patit Mishra (South Asia and the Middle East), Barbara Bennett Peterson (East Asia and Oceania), Hakeem Tijani (Africa), and Harald Haarmann (Europe).

"Native Peoples of the World" will be a first-of-it's-kind reference work that examines the complex relationships between the world's indigenous groups and the societies that surround them. Of particular interest will be borderlands issues that arise when indigenous groups
are either migratory across international borders or have territories that span international borders.

The manuscript is approximately 75% complete, but we still need help from qualified scholars to contribute to this important new encyclopedia. The following is the organizational scheme of the
encyclopedia:

*Section 1: Indigenous People Groups of the World - As there are well over 1,000 identified indigenous groups worldwide, not all will be covered with individual group entries. Some will be combined with related groups, other smaller groups will only be covered in the nation entries.

*Section 2: Nations of the World - Not all nations have indigenous groups, some are so assimilated as not to have a distinct identity.

*Section 3: Issues Facing Indigenous Groups of the World - These entries will need to be a bit longer to explore the different ways these issues play out in different contexts around the world.

We would appreciate hearing from you if you are interested in contributing to this project. Please send an e-mail to contributors@mesaverdepublishing.com, and we will be happy to send you the list of available entries as well as information about remuneration and due dates.

Thank you in advance for your interest, we look forward to working with you to produce an informative, academically rigorous, and useful volume.
