ITWeb online is looking for an enthusiastic hard news journalist with a passion for technology and a keen interest in the IT and telecoms sector breaking news.
The successful candidate will also be engaged in developing new media capabilities: combining text with video and audio; interacting with the readers; engaging relevant industry players in online forums, etc.
Responsibilities
- To cover breaking news stories for ITWeb's top news section.
- To work closely with the online news team, generate and follow up original story ideas.
- To work with the multimedia department and initiate, plan and execute coverage of news events for web streaming.
- To specialise in specific news areas and take on responsibility for attending and covering any related events.

Requirements
- A journalism / media studies tertiary qualification
- Excellent writing and interviewing skills
- A passion for hard news and an ambition to succeed (living up to ITWeb's tagline: "First with IT news")
- An interest in mobile, Internet, telecoms and IT technologies
- An interest in interactive new media: combining text with video and audio on the web and mobile platforms.
- News reporting experience is advantageous. However, graduates with demonstrated ability to write hard news will also be considered.

- Hard-working and disciplined, able to work well under pressure and produce original work of excellent quality while meeting strict deadlines.
- Creative and independent thinker, able to come up with unique story ideas and angles.
