Calling for entries for our 6th annual Art & Poetry Competition (closing date for entries 31 May 2012).
Entries can either be hand delivered, couriered or posted to Chaeli Cottage, 18 Culm Road, Plumstead, Cape Town, 7800, South Africa. We are accepting entries from across South Africa, Africa and the rest of the world! No entry fee is charged and it is the artist/poet‟s responsibility to get his/her entry to Chaeli Cottage by 31 May 2012. Poetry entries may be emailed or faxed to us.
This competition is funded by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund. All entries will form part of an exhibition that takes place from 19 – 23 June at Chaeli Cottage. Finalists will be notified in advance so that they may attend the awards function on Saturday 23 June 2012 at 11h00.
Theme: Beauty Full
Brief: Depict disability in a positive and beautiful way where you focus on the ABILITY and forget the „DIS‟ing.

Important: there must be a clear link to the above theme in your work.
Categories:
1. POETRY must consist of a minimum of 12 lines and may be submitted in English, Afrikaans or Xhosa.
Category 1: Grade 4-7 Category 2: Grade 8-11 Category 3: Grade 12 & Adults
2. ARTWORK must be submitted on an A3 folio (minimum size), with the artist‟s full name, grade & school (if applicable) on the back. Any medium is acceptable.
Category 1: Grade 1-3 Category 2: Grade 4-6 Category 3: Grade 7-9 Category 4: Grade 10 – 12 Category 5: Adult
3. CRAFTS may include anything (needlework, wirework, beadwork, etc.) – go wild!
Category 1: Primary School Category 2: High School Category 3: Adult
4. SCULPTURE may include any medium.
Category 1: High School Category 2: Adult
5. PHOTOGRAPH/S must be mounted on black paper as a single photo or a collage. Provide a title for your work. Minimum finished size (mounted) must be A4.

A R500 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of each category. Please fill in a separate entry form for each entry (if entering more than one piece of work).
