A dynamic and energetic individual with initiative to join a dynamic youth publication (SA Career Focus) to act as a translator (from English to Afrikaans) and provide editorial support in the form of writing articles and proofing. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude who will work directly with the Editor.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Translation of copy from English into Afrikaans
• Copy editing and proofreading, including supplements and special projects, to the magazine style
• Writing articles, conducting interviews, taking photos
• Willing to attend expos representing SA Career Focus
• Updating and maintaining a style guide
• Editorial support
• Ad hock tasks

REQUIREMENTS:
• Fully bilingual - Afrikaans and English
• The appropriate training or qualification in Languages/Journalism/Linguistics
• Excellent language skills - written and verbal
• Copy editing experience
• Experience in translating from English into Afrikaans - proven track record
• The ability to work under pressure + meet deadlines
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Must have a valid driver's license and own transport
ADVANTAGEOUS
• Experience in a magazine environment
• Knowledge of InDesign
