Job Opening: Fashion Editor for iFashion (South Africa)

Your ultimate responsibility is to establish iFashion as a trusted online authority and first point of reference for people interested in fashion as well as South African fashion professionals. In the process, we expect you to make yourself known to the fashion industry as editor and the face of iFashion.

Your duty will be to control, organise, implement, monitor and verify all phases of editorial development of iFashion, as well as to establish and implement editorial procedures to ensure the website delivers on its mission statement. You will also assist the sales department in the acquisition of new business, as well as the maintenance of current and new business relationships.

Requirements

1.Manage the task of producing high quality content, in line with iFashion's style, mandate and publishing mantra;

2.Plan the contents of the Web site, decide what will appeal to readers, how the articles are covered and who will cover them;

3.Develop the editorial calendar, editorial workflow and production schedule, keep track of articles in progress, set and enforce deadlines for copy;

4.Liaise with contributors and photographers to ensure constant stream of content;

5.Be responsible for ensuring that content is published daily, with appropriate visuals;

6.Represent the brand at industry events and functions and attend whatever events are necessary to generate content, in addition to generating pieces based on your knowledge, contacts and research;

7.Promote the Web site in one-to-one networking sessions with people of influence and/or through public appearances;

8.Help build the community of users and drive traffic to the website;

9.Maintain communication with the readers and encourage participation;

10.Monitor and verify expenditure of budgeted funds;

11.Support the sales team, writing sales briefs, advising and guiding sales executives (angles, value proposition, selling points, and leads.)

12.Compile and edit newsletters

13.Manage the publication of job adverts, the management of job advert contracts as well as maintain relationships with the network of recruiters and retailers who use the job section of the site

14.Manage iFashion's social media interactions in a manner that grows iFashion's reputation and standing in the industry
