Job Opening: Fashion Editor for Cosmopolitan (Associated Magazines, South Africa)

FASHION EDITOR: COSMOPOLITAN

To develop the fashion strategy for Cosmopolitan and reinforce its position as a fashion authority in the South African market, increasing representation across designers and price points. To create a clear fashion identity for the brand (as distinct from competitors) by producing fashion stories on a monthly basis, as well as overseeing and mentoring the fashion team and managing the JHB fashion department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The core responsibilities of the Fashion Editor will include but not be limited to:

· Overseeing all the fashion that goes into the magazine, ensuring it complies with the Cosmo fashion commandments and that it isn’t contradictory or repetitive

· Ensuring that models used throughout the book fairly represent the South African COSMO reader

· Conceptualising and writing fashion articles

· Producing and managing cover shoots
· Representing the magazine at launches or other functions when necessary, interacting with advertisers and maintaining good relationships with clients.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum three years’ experience in fashion styling at a senior level

· Passionate and knowledgeable about fashion and keeps abreast of the trends

· Able to manage her time efficiently and to work under pressure.

· Has good industry contacts

· A valid driver’s license and own transport
