Mikateko Media is looking for an experienced sub editor and writer to work on its Mango Juice publication.
A proven editorial track record, an excellent command of English and the ability to deliver your best work under pressure are important prerequisites for this position with the leading content marketers in the country.
Remuneration will be commensurate with your work experience, and travel will be necessary.
Candidates with the following experience or interests are invited to apply for this challenging and interesting position:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Write features, rewrite and edit copy, proofread
• Work closely with the editor re editorial management
• Help conceptualise stories, together with the team
• Participate in planning and cover-line meetings
• Ensure magazine tone is maintained throughout
• Write commissions in conjunction with editor
• Keep to strict deadlines
• Drive new ideas for content to consistently take the magazine forward
• Read and research to keep up with the latest thinking and trends - client magazines and clients' business
SKILLS:
• Excellent command of English
• High level of computer literacy, including: Indesign and Internet
• Ability to work within a compact team
• Ability to work under pressure
• Must have good eye for detail
• Good administrative skills
