Under the auspices of Diwan Bookstore, the BA launched a Short Story Contest in both English and Arabic for age groups under 35 and above 35 years old.
Proposed short story should be original, with grammar, spelling and punctuation taken into consideration.
Deadline for sending your pieces is 8 September. Winners will be announced on 15 September 2011.
Rules:
Participants will divided into two age groupings: (a) from 16 - 34 and (b) 35 years and above.
There is no specific theme and the entries may be written in English or Arabic, taking into account the rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Font should be Simplified Arabic 14 or Times New Roman 14. Entries should not exceed four pages, typed double-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins. Page numbers should appear on the header. All submissions should be original.
Please fill in the subscription form found here and send an electronic/ Word file of the story to info . Use the email address that you entered in the subscription form.
Entries will be accepted from now until September 8th. Four awards are allocated to the two age categories. Certificates of appreciation will also be issued. Results will be announced on September 15th on the website.
