JOB DESCRIPTION
The Daily Dispatch is looking for an experienced, dynamic journalist to cover the Eastern Cape legislature, King Williams Town and the surrounding area from our bureau in Bhisho. The person appointed would be expected to report on the provincial government, the legislature, its committees and the parties represented in the legislature and to file general news reports from the district. The reporter would also be expected to file analytical and investigative reports.

REQUIREMENTS
• Have a Degree in Journalism/equivalent.
• At least four years of experience as a reporter.
• An existing and extensive network of relevant contacts.
• Familiarity with affairs of Eastern Cape and news-making issues in South Africa to produce accurate news reports on deadline
• A valid driver's license.
• Proficient reporting and interviewing skills.
• Proficiency in news and feature writing.
• Ability to originate news stories and develop contacts.
• Attention to detail.
PERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
• Self-starter able to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work irregular hours.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
