The News Editor will take responsibility for Nuus24's editorial offering in late afternoons and evenings, leading the team that is responsible for the writing and publication of news stories.
Job Outputs:
* Selection of news stories and monitoring of news sources.
* Supervision of writing/compilation of breaking news stories.
* Manage aggregated content mix
* Quality control over editorial material
Skills and Competencies:
* Good understanding of the digital medium
* Good news sense
* Well-organised individual
* Ability to thrive under pressure
* Strong leadership qualities
* A flair for writing and editing in Afrikaans
* Must be fully bilingual
Qualifications and Experience:
* A tertiary qualification
* At least two years of experience in the journalism industry
* Sub-editing experience
* Experience as an online editor will be an advantage
