We are seeking to enhance and consolidate our market leadership by recruiting dynamic, creative, self-driven and results oriented individuals for the following positions tenable in Kigali, Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities: -
* Planning and implementing news strategy for radio and print;
* Provide leadership and guidance to the Editorial news teams;
* Building and maintaining close and effective contacts with news sources and the network of contributors/correspondents;
* Vetting editorial integrity of news, stories and related bulletins;
* Liaising with other NMG teams for synergy to ensure a competitive edge;
* Guiding and briefing reporters on story angling and coverage and broadcasting;
* Reviewing stories to ensure they meet broadcasting objectives, journalistic ethics and Group’s policy guidelines ;
* Ensuring timely delivery and execution of stories;
* Managing the duty rosters for reporters and correspondents to ensure adequate staffing.
Knowledge and Skills
* University degree in journalism;
* At least 4 years’ demonstrable experience in news management;
* People management skills;
* Prior radio experience is an added advantage.
