A small, dynamic publishing house seeks energetic editor for its monthly customer magazine. As editor, the candidate will need to drive the magazine's editorial strategy and be accountable for overseeing and managing the editing, writing and design of the magazine.
This job will suit a self-motivated person who is eager to learn and able to translate instructions from a corporate/retail client into creative copy and visuals. Being a team member is essential.
Requirements
• Excellent grasp of the English language and a proven track record in magazine journalism (at least two years experience)
• Ability to plan and research, come up with ideas, suggestions and always write to deadline
• Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills
• Be excellent at working under pressure and to very tight deadlines
• Have a keen eye for detail and a passion for doing things well
• Ability to grow and develop the editorial content of the magazine is a must
• Experience conducting interviews
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Good time management skills
• Computer literacy and familiarity with Indesign and Microsoft Word
