Stokvel voice, a niche title targeting stokvels and their members, needs an editor to drive the publication's editorial strategy. The Candidate must understand this headspace and have a solid grasp of Stokvels in South Africa.
Main Purpose of the Role:
Accountable for overseeing and managing the editing, writing and design of the publication
Key Responsibilities :
•Work in conjunction with the publisher, to ensure a dynamic strategic knowledge of the reader and the target market
• Set editorial policy for the publication
• Clearly understand the reader by continually evaluating feedback and comment, while also monitoring, evaluating and implementing trends in global media
• Generate ideas for articles, and select topics that are pertinent (and if necessary commercial) in collaboration with the Publisher
• Ensure that all copy is delivered within stipulated deadlines and to standard.
• Represent and act as an ambassador of the brand
• Work with the publisher on reader and industry events to build brand loyalty and innovative reader contact points
